In December last year Jade was invited to submit JADE Investigator as an entry in the 2009 Consensus Awards. These Awards, according to the promoters, "identify the most innovative software in Australia and New Zealand and are endorsed and supported by Austrade, NZ Trade & Enterprise, Australian Computer Society and New Zealand Computer Society."
After reviewing written submissions, a panel of 14 judges selected fifteen software products last February, including JADE Investigator, for further evaluation. Part two of the judging required us to present for 45 minutes on April 9th in Sydney to 7 judges, all very experienced technology people in senior management roles in Australia and New Zealand. The presentation was required to focus on the innovation, performance, and future potential, of the software.
Since each product is assessed directly against the judging criteria, there are no categories and the judges may recommend as many or as few Awards as they deem to be worthy each year. This year only seven of the fifteen finalists won a 2009 Consensus Award. JADE Investigator was one of those seven winners.
The 2009 Awards were announced on April 22nd and presented by Senator Kate Lundy, Senator for the ACT, at a Gala Dinner in Sydney. Representing Jade at that dinner were Peter Duffy, Susan Mason, and Jon Piercey.
